Bonaccord Ecosse Limited is a law firm regulated by the Law Society of Scotland.

We offer general corporate and commercial support to businesses of all sizes from sole traders to multinationals. We want to see our clients succeed and will endeavour to provide pragmatic, commercially relevant advice in a cost effective and timely manner in line with our philosophy.

We primarily work with science based companies and have a particular interest in the life sciences. For these clients it is essential that contracts and business processes are drafted in ways that take into account the client's business goal and the specific features of the technology so permitting them to maximise the exploitation value of their ideas. We also use this expertise to support businesses such as those of artists, writers and coaches that are based on other forms of intellectual property.

We will always try to think proactively and holistically about the client's business and to look beyond their immediate legal needs to their other professional and commercial interests where possible introducing them to those in our extensive network who may be able to help them with advice, practical support or even as customers.. In many cases we are asked to work as if we were our client’s in house lawyer becoming closely integrated with the management team and allowing a small company to access all the advantages of having an experienced General Counsel but without the overhead.

Many of our clients are quite young businesses or are just getting started and we have created a quarterly newsletter with informative articles on both legal and other topics particularly for them. Increasingly our clients are looking for help in taking their businesses to international markets. We maintain close relations with other law firms and service providers around the world with a view to helping them obtain the support they need.

Bonaccord is proud to be an independent law firm and as such does not enter into exclusive arrangements with other law firms or indeed any other type of organisation. This allows us to make recommendations based on our assessment of the best fit for the particular client.

We enjoy collaborating with other law firms and professional advisers on various projects around the world and are always open to discussing ways in which we can work with different organisations to benefit our respective clients. In particular we can offer intellectual property and life science support to firms with limited specialist expertise in this area or who have life science clients looking to expand into other territories.
